Representative dishes of Colombia
There are many dishes from Colombia that represent several of its regions or departments, but there is no specific one that represents this country, and whoever says otherwise is lying, since you cannot represent an entire country just for one meal, although it is true that many foods from other countries, one baptizes them as representatives of that country, such is the case of sushi, despite this several meals together if they can make a good representation of the Colombian territory.
The meals that can be representatives of this country would be:
Ajiaco
Ajiaco is a typical food from a large part of the Colombian territory, being one of the most sought after foods by tourists, being its main ingredient brought from the Andean region.
It consists of adding chicken, creole potato, sabanera or pastusa, long onion, cob and guascas.
Bandeja paisa
The famous paisa tray is always recognized or mentioned as the dish that represents Colombia, but it is not.
This consists of a tray full of foods like; black pudding, beans, white rice, pork rinds, meat powder, chorizo, fried egg, ripe banana, avocado and arepa.
Tamales
Tamale is a typical Colombian food in general, but with notable differences in its preparation and its name in the different regions.
It consists of wrapping in a large banana leaf, the set of rice, chicken, meat, green peas and other ingredients to suit the person.
It should also be mentioned that there is another food that is called Hallaca in Sucre, and it is very similar to Tamale, except that instead of rice it has dough.
